Deloitte Legal is further expanding its employment law advisory services in Berlin: Effective April 1, 2026, Nico Jänicke (45), a recognized expert in employment law, will join Deloitte Legal as an equity partner from Taylor Wessing. Nico Jänicke advises both domestic and international employers on all matters of individual and collective employment law. His practice focuses on restructurings, providing employment law support for (M&A) transactions, compliance with labor and social security law, and the design of and advice on national and international compensation and incentive models. He also possesses particular expertise in the design, advice, and implementation of employee participation models in their various national and international forms.
Nico Jaenicke’s move is part of Deloitte Legal’s strategy to consistently expand its labor law advisory services at all locations in Germany. In 2025, Deloitte Legal was named “Law Firm of the Year for Labor Law” by JUVE. With Nico Jänicke, who is joined by an associate, Deloitte Legal’s employment law practice now has 33 professionals in Germany.
“With Nico Jänicke, we are gaining a distinguished employment law expert for our team. He combines traditional employer advisory services with specialized experience in restructuring, transactions, and compliance issues in labor and social security law. Added to this is his proven expertise in compensation structures and national and international employee participation models, which are becoming increasingly important strategically for many companies,” says Klaus Heeke, Partner and Lead Employment Law at Deloitte Legal.
Dr. Julia Petersen, Partner at Deloitte Legal in Berlin, adds: “Expanding our employment law practice at our Berlin office is an important step for our continued development. With Nico Jänicke, we are gaining a highly qualified attorney who will specifically strengthen our employment law expertise in Berlin and ideally complement our interdisciplinary advisory services.”
Nico Jänicke explains: “The decisive factor in my move is above all the distinct international character of Deloitte Legal. Today, employment law mandates are often cross-border and closely intertwined with international transactions, global HR structures, and regulatory requirements. Integrated, cross-border advice is particularly important when it comes to international compensation and employee participation models. Deloitte Legal offers a very strong platform for this. I look forward to working with the existing team to further expand our labor law practice in Berlin.”
