A Düsseldorf-based Deloitte Legal team co-led by Dr Michael von Rüden (Partner) and Christoph Meves (Counsel, both Corporate/M&A, both Düsseldorf) has advised artegic Holding GmbH, a subsidiary of DuMont Media Group, on the acquisition of epoq internet services GmbH from its previous shareholder, the French AB Tasty SAS.
epoq internet services GmbH is a provider of AI-supported personalisation solutions in e-commerce. Epoq uses an artificial intelligence process that enables the personalisation of marketing at various levels up to 1:1 personalisation. For example, a company's entire digital commerce can be personalised, but also a single specific campaign. To date, epoq has successfully integrated over 550 of its AI technologies with customers.
The buyer, the DuMont Media Group, is one of the oldest and largest publishing houses in Germany. It is focusing on digital growth across its three business segments: Regional Media, Business Information, and Marketing Technology.
Through this strategic acquisition, the DuMont Media Group is expanding its portfolio in the rapidly growing marketing technology sector with a fast-growing digital platform model, thereby strengthening its range of innovative digital products. For epoq, affiliation with DuMont opens up new development prospects, such as content and marketing collaborations.
Deloitte Legal provided the DuMont Media Group with comprehensive legal advice on the transaction. The DuMont Media Group regularly relies on the advice of Deloitte Legal for its transactions.
