Deloitte Legal client ORAFOL expands global presence with acquisition in South Korea

A Düsseldorf-based Deloitte Legal team led by Dr Michael von Rüden (Partner, Corporate/M&A, Düsseldorf) advised ORAFOL Europe GmbH on the acquisition of South Korean company Reflomax Co., Ltd. from its previous shareholders.

Reflomax Co., Ltd. is a leading South Korea-based developer and manufacturer of retroreflective materials and speciality films in the Asia-Pacific region. Founded in 1989, the company has since focused on the development of innovative, forward-looking microprismatic reflective film products.

The buyer is ORAFOL Europe GmbH, a leading global company based in Oranienburg, Germany, specialising in the development and manufacture of self-adhesive graphic films, reflective materials, adhesive tape systems and special polymer films.

Through this strategic acquisition, ORAFOL is strengthening its presence and commitment in the Asia-Pacific region. For Reflomax, joining the global company ORAFOL opens up the opportunity to quickly adapt its production capacity to demand for its innovations.

Deloitte Legal, together with the Korean law firm Kim & Chang, provided ORAFOL Europe GmbH with comprehensive legal advice in connection with the transaction. A German-Korean team from Deloitte provided financial and tax advice to ORAFOL.
