Artificial intelligence has long been a reality and is profoundly changing business models, work environments and leadership principles. The key question is no longer whether AI is used, but how quickly, legally secure and consistently it can be integrated into one's own organization.
The book "AI Transformation and Governance – Roadmap for Executive Boards, Supervisory Boards and Management", to be published on May 18, 2026, supports leadership bodies in understanding AI as a core strategic priority and actively shaping the transformation. It offers new perspectives and guiding questions, practical approaches, and recommendations for responsible implementation.
A special highlight is the chapter on regulation:
Dr. Till Contzen, Partner at Deloitte Legal and Head of the Service Area Digital Law, sheds light on the key legal challenges posed by the use of AI. AI has an impact on just about every area of business – the legal areas affected are correspondingly diverse. In addition to the requirements of the EU AI Act – the first comprehensive, EU-wide legal framework for AI – other requirements of substantive law, such as data and copyright laws as well as liability issues, including the potential personal liability of management bodies, are addressed and cannot be ignored during implementation.
It is clear that AI transformation is not merely a matter of technology or compliance. It is rather a strategic leadership responsibility that must be carried out by management and supervisory bodies in particular – through the implementation of appropriate governance structures and effective measures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
