Deloitte Legal supports the Goldschmaus Group in acquiring a significant portion of the Hein Group

A cross-location, interdisciplinary Deloitte Legal team, led by Hanover-based partner Dr Konstadinos Massuras, advised Goldschmaus Convenience GmbH & Co. KG i.Gr., a subsidiary of Böseler Goldschmaus GmbH & Co. KG, on the acquisition of the Hein Group's Hasbergen site.

The transaction took place as part of a structured, competitive bidding process and is still subject to approval by the German Federal Cartel Office. Completion is currently scheduled for 1 March 2026.In October 2025, the Hein Group, a long-established manufacturer of meat and sausage products headquartered in Hasbergen, applied for insolvency proceedings under its own administration for all its companies. The planned takeover and announced investments offer sustainable prospects for the vast majority of the approximately 350 employees at the Hasbergen site.

The Goldschmaus Group plans to invest millions in modernising the site and expanding production capacity to meet demand. This will strengthen the company's vertical value chain, covering everything from breeding and slaughtering to cutting and processing. Goldschmaus employs around 2,100 people at its sites in Garrel and Oldenburg, and this acquisition will see it expand into further processing.

Throughout the entire project, the transaction team — consisting of lawyers from Deloitte Legal and auditors and tax advisors from Deloitte — provided Goldschmaus with comprehensive support, successfully contributing their experience from a large number of M&A transactions, including those in distressed environments. This once again demonstrates the advantages of interdisciplinary cooperation between legal and tax advisors.
