Sonja Hoffmeister is Counsel at Deloitte Legal and a qualified lawyer, Certified Specialist Lawyer for Migration Law (Fachanwältin für Migrationsrecht), and trained mediator. She has been practising law since 2007 and specialises in business immigration law. Since 2021, she has been advising national and international companies within the Global Employer Services (GES) practice on all aspects of immigration and residence law.
Her expertise includes complex visa and residence permit applications, work authorisations, and naturalisation matters. She advises a range of clients, including leading global technology companies, on complex business immigration matters.
Prior to joining Deloitte Legal, Sonja Hoffmeister ran a law firm specialising in migration law. She is co-author of the Handbook of Immigration and Asylum Law Forms (Formularbuch Ausländer- und Asylrecht, Nomos, edited by Marx) and the commentary on the German Residence and Asylum Acts (AufenthG/AsylG, C.H. Beck, edited by Huber and Mantel).
